 Geocaching is like a high tech treasure hunt.  Avid geocachers Paul Rubin and his thirteen year old daughter Julia will teach you how to use a hand-held Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver to zero in on treasures\, or geocaches\, that have been hidden in beautiful natural locations.  In this workshop you will find your first geocache and will learn how to log it on the internet\, thus sharing your adventures with family\, friends and a global community of other geocachers.  This workshop is presented by Catskills Live\, who have set up a Henry Hudson Quadricentennial Geocaching Challenge locally.  Bring your own GPS or share with the instructors.  See www.geocaching.com to find out more about this new craze.

SUMMARY:Theatre workshop at Tivoli Free Library
DESCRIPTION:<p>
 Calling all future stars! Tivoli Free Library will be exploring the world of theatre at 10\:30 a.m. Tuesday\, July 7\, when Babette Fasolino\, the Education Director for The Center at Performing Arts at Rhinebeck\, comes for a visit. Fasolino will talk about what makes a play work\, and then lead participants through some improvisational exercises and games. Kids will have a chance to experiment with theatre props and costumes while learning about the many types of performances that happen on the stage.<br />
  <br />
 In addition to being the Education Director for The Center at Performing Arts at Rhinebeck\, Fasolino also produces children’s shows and serves as the Arts in Education liaison with area schools and administers the Center’s summer camp program. She also teaches in the Performing\, Visual Arts and Communications Department at SUNY Dutchess. She holds an MA in Communications and Organizational Leadership from Marist College. This program is open to the public and free of charge. It is recommended for kids in elementary school.

DESCRIPTION:<p>Budding cinematographers are invited to come to Tivoli Free Library for a special adult Summer Reading Program – a Hands-On Video Workshop with Kathy O’Connor of PANDATV23 – that will encourage participants to “Be Creative at the Library.” This two-part program will take place from 6\:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday\, July 7\, and again on Tuesday\, July 14. Participants are expected to attend both workshops.<br />

 The first workshop will introduce participants to the basics of using a camera effectively. During the second workshop\, O’Connor will help attendees learn how to tell and capture the stories of a community. Participants may then work on projects that could be aired on PANDATV23.<br />
