SUMMARY:The 10th annual Great Hudson River Paddle
DESCRIPTION:
The 10th annual Great Hudson River Paddle\, an eight-day\, 100+-mile kayaking and camping trip from Albany to Peekskill\, is scheduled for July 29 to August 5\, 2010. Registration for the event ends June 15th.

A group of paddlers will depart from the Capital City and travel down the most pristine and productive estuary on the east coast\, ending at the southern entrance to the majestic and historic Hudson Highlands. SUMMARY:\\"BABA YAGA and the PEARL of the EAST\\"
DESCRIPTION:
90 Miles Childrens' Summer Theaetre opens its 9th year with the original musical -- &quot\;BABA YAGA and the PEARL of the EAST&quot\;. This year Judy Elliot has taken her characters from Russian folk tales and combines stories of 18th century peasant life with a very real 21st century fight to save Lake Baikal. For those of us who don't know\, Lake Baikal is in Siberia and it just happens to hold 20% of the earth's fresh water. It is the deepest and oldest (20 - 30 million years old) lake in the world and it contains species found no where else on the planet\, one such being the Nerpa\, a fresh water seal. This delightful production once again contains all original music by musical director Janet Salt\, director Judy Elliot and Charles Frommer. It is the largest cast ever with 31 kids from the ages of 9 to 14. As to the characters!!! There is the wild and outrageous &quot\;Baba Yaga&quot\; and her talking &quot\;Hut&quot\; who runs aroung on chichen legs\, Sopia\, the talking doll\, and &quot\;Koschei the Deathless&quot\; whose soul is in an egg. This is show for ALL ages rich in fantasy\, song and dance - with an environmental statemen as well!
(A paper plant owned by one of the richest men in Russaia\, Oleg Deripaska\, was reopened this year by order of Vladimir Putin. Accorging to Greenpeace Russia the result of this action wil allow the plant to &quot\;send poisonous flows into the lake\, a world heritage object without any limitations to time\, extent or content&quot\;.)

WHEN\: July 28th\, 29th\, 30th\, 31st at 10\:00am\; July 30th and 31st also at 2\:0pm
WHERE\: Social Hall of the reformed Church\, Huguenot Street\, New Paltz.
